Design Thinking Strategy Development

Design thinking stands fundamentally to successful strategy development and organizational change.

Thinking like a designer can transform the way organizations develop products, services, processes, and strategies. This approach, which is known as design thinking, brings together what is desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable. It also allows people who aren’t trained as designers to use creative tools to address a vast range of challenges.

It tackles complex problems by:

Empathizing: Understanding the human needs involved.
Defining: Re-framing and defining the problem in human-centric ways.
Ideating: Creating many ideas in ideation sessions.
Prototyping: Adopting a hands-on approach in prototyping.
Testing: Developing a prototype/solution to the problem.

What is Design Thinking?

It is a methodology used by designers to solve complex problems and find desirable solutions for clients. A design mindset is not problem-focused, it’s solution-focused and action-oriented towards creating a preferred future. It draws upon logic, imagination, intuition, and systemic reasoning, to explore possibilities of what could be—and to create desired outcomes that benefit the end-user (the customer).

Design thinking reduces the ambiguity and risk present in innovation by involving the customers or users on a series of prototypes to find, test, and improve concepts.
